emerging through verse
"My music is my life. I live for Hip Hop.
I speak to you through music because it brings out the truth in me, and
in the things we overlook."
Enable Mind
After years of writing poetry and listening to Hip Hop, I began to explore the ability to express myself through creating hip hop music, and actually performing my poetry as songs.
My first stage performance was in January of 2009 at my high school talent show with the song "Will You Forget" . It was then that I realized that music and performing was the direction I wanted to go. I became intoxicated with the culture. Really, It's inspired me since I began listening to music. Emceeing has become my way to voice myself. To get people to listen to what I have to say.And most importantly... Doing this is FUN!
In the Spring of 2009, I was selected to appear at the WAMI Youth Showcase held at the Wisconsin State Fair. During that summer I also attended the Hip Hop Workshop held at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota. Invigorated from the influence of artist/instructors' (Toki Wright, a Twin Cities based emcee, poet, and the newest artist on Rhymesayers Entertainment, Sean McPherson, co-founder and bassist
of the Twin Cities hip-hop group Heiruspecs, and Medium Zach, + Brandon Allday of the duo Big Quarters), Later that year, I brought forth 18 original songs to launch My first CD "Through The Rhyme".
Then "The Young Poet Project" followed. Since then I've been working with my friend, and fellow hip hop advocate, MDUBJ. He's very talented and I look forward to the music we'll create. He's also a pretty damn good tagger.
On August 18th, 2010- I released "The Things That EYE've Dreamed"- a 10-song L.P. featuring MDUBJ. It's my most current release to date.
I have been enrolled in the Hip Hop Diploma program at McNally Smith College of Music, and I live in St. Paul, MN. I'm going to keep making good music, and performing, spreading the sounds. Above all, I hope I can inspire listeners, or at the very least provide you with some smooth music.
